Quick answer: The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the US, £1,999 in the UK, €2,299 in Germany, C$2,999 in Canada and A$3,499 in Australia, all for 256GB. Pre-orders open on 16 October 2026 and the phone goes on sale on 23 October. It’s eSIM-only everywhere, so you’ll need a carrier that supports eSIM before you buy.
Apple unveiled its first foldable iPhone in September 2026. The headline US price gets most of the attention, but what you’ll actually pay depends on where you live, and the pre-order time changes too. Everything below comes from Apple’s own store pages and newsroom, checked in early October 2026.
This guide is about the US, UK, Germany, Canada and Australia. For more phone coverage, see our Mobile section.
How much does the iPhone Duo cost in each country?
Apple sells the Duo in four storage sizes. Each one costs the same in both colors, Star White and Night Sky. Here are the official prices as listed on Apple’s UK, German, Canadian and Australian store pages, plus the US prices in MacRumors’ launch report.
| Storage | US | UK | Germany | Canada | Australia |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 256GB | $1,999 | £1,999 | €2,299 | C$2,999 | A$3,499 |
| 512GB | $2,199 | £2,199 | €2,549 | C$3,299 | A$3,899 |
| 1TB | $2,599 | £2,599 | €3,049 | C$3,899 | A$4,699 |
| 2TB | $3,199 | £3,199 | €3,799 | C$4,799 | A$5,899 |
We haven’t converted any of these ourselves. Each figure is what Apple lists in that country’s store. Sales tax and VAT treatment differs by country, so check the final total at checkout, especially in the US where tax is usually added on top of the sticker price.
For context, Channel Insider reports that the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the Pro Max at $1,299 in the US. That makes the Duo about $700 more than the Pro at the base level.
When can you pre-order and when does it ship?
The dates are the same worldwide, but the clock time isn’t. Apple’s pages give these pre-order times:
- US and Canada: Friday 16 October 2026 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
- UK: 16 October from 1:00 p.m. (Apple’s UK page says to “come back on 12.10” to get ready).
- Germany: 16 October at 2:00 p.m. local time.
- Australia: 11:00 p.m. AEDT on 16 October, with a “get ready” step opening on 13 October.
General availability is 23 October. MacRumors says Apple will sell the phone in more than 70 countries and regions that day, with a second wave of 28 more on 30 October. Outlets list the first-wave countries differently, so if you live outside the five markets above, check your local Apple Store page for your date.
Does the iPhone Duo work with your carrier?
It has to be an eSIM carrier. Apple’s Canadian and Australian pages say the Duo is eSIM-only, with no physical SIM tray. Channel Insider adds that Apple says more than 500 carriers support it, including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon in the US.
Before you order, do three things:
- Log in to your carrier account or app and confirm it offers eSIM for your plan.
- If your current phone has a physical SIM, ask your carrier how to convert it. Apple’s eSIM setup guide says phones running iOS 18.4 or later can transfer eSIMs nearby over Bluetooth.
- If you travel, read our https://insightorys.com/2026/10/07/europe-travel-esim-roaming-guide/ guide, because an eSIM-only phone changes how you buy a local data plan.
What are the payment and accessory options?
In the US, Apple lists Apple Card Monthly Installments at $83.29 a month for 24 months, and a Klarna lease from $57.99 a month over 24 months, according to Apple’s newsroom post. The newsroom also lists the Duo Folio with kickstand at $129 and the Duo Case at $79; both work with MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging.
In the UK, Apple’s page lists 0% APR over 30 months, with monthly payments from £66.63 to £106.63 depending on the storage you pick. We didn’t find comparable finance terms on the German, Canadian or Australian pages, so check at checkout.
What do you get for the money?
Apple’s newsroom describes a 7.6-inch inner display and a 5.4-inch outer display, a titanium build, IP68 water resistance and the A20 Pro chip. Apple’s store pages quote up to 44 hours of video playback on the outer display. It runs iOS 27, which we cover in our existing iOS 27 and Siri guides.
Our view: at these prices, the Duo is a phone for people who specifically want a foldable. If you just want a flagship, the Pro models cost far less. Wait for independent reviews before you pre-order, because nobody outside Apple has had long-term hands-on time with the hinge or battery yet.
Should you pre-order on day one?
Pre-ordering gets you in line for the 23 October delivery. We can’t predict supply, and Apple hasn’t published stock numbers, so if you want a specific storage size or color on day one, being ready at the pre-order time is the safest plan.
A few practical points before you decide:
- Pick storage carefully. The jump from 256GB to 512GB is $200 in the US, £200 in the UK and €250 in Germany. If you mostly stream and back up photos to the cloud, the base model may be enough.
- Check your trade-in value first. Apple and carriers will quote one before you commit, and the number differs by country.
- Read the return terms. A foldable is a new kind of device, so know how long you have to return it in your country.
- Compare with the Pixel line. Google’s standard phone starts at $899, as we explain in our https://insightorys.com/2026/10/07/pixel-11-price-us-uk-germany-canada/ guide.
The prices above are Apple’s list prices as of early October 2026. Apple can adjust regional prices, and its stores can change the pre-order time, so check again on 12 October when the UK and German pages say the “get ready” step opens.
